Choosing the Appropriate Needle Length & Gauge

Needle Length (mm)
Shorter needles (4mm–6mm):
- Commonly recommended for most adults
- Designed to reduce risk of intramuscular injection
Gauge (G)
Higher gauge number = thinner needle
Example:
32G / 33G = thinner
29G / 30G = slightly
- May be recommended in specific clinical cases
